Genital Herpes is a viral infection, and is sexually transmitted affecting the skin or mucous of the genitals. This kind of disease is caused by two kinds of viruses which includes: Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2).
HSV-2 can be spread through secretions from the mouth or genitals, while Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) causes infections of the mouth and the lips, and is spread from the mouth to the genitals.
Symptoms
- Fever
- Muscle aches in the lower back, buttocks, thighs, or knees
- General sick feeling (Malaise)
- Decreased appetite
